The Society for East Asian Anthropology (SEAA) is an officially recognized section within the American Anthropological Association (AAA). We are open to all members of the AAA but our activities are intended to reach beyond the membership of the AAA. Any anthropologist anywhere in the world is welcome to subscribe to our SEAA List (GoogleGroup) or follow our Facebook student group, to post, and to participate.
If you are a member of the AAA, please select our section when renewing your AAA membership. If you are not a member of the AAA or SEAA, you are still welcome to join our GoogleGroup, SEAA List. SEAA membership fees are among the lowest in the AAA (US$5 for students and retirees and US$15 for everyone else) and help fund our prizes, mentoring workshops for students, receptions at the annual AAA meetings, advocacy efforts, online resources, and other activities to support our thriving intellectual community.
